My Go-To Smoothie – Protein Boost

I love this smoothie! To me, it’s delicious!

My Go-To Smoothie - Protein Boost

My midwife says I need to increase my protein intake and eat more. So that’s what I am doing.

It’s easy to make, and can either be a meal of its own, since it has so many calories, or a good way to get what you need when you are falling short.

  • What I Use:

1 medium Banana

4 good sized strawberries

less than a cup of Chobani Greek Strawberry Yogurt (Plain works, too)

A half cup of dry Quaker Quick Oats

1 scoop (1/3 cup) of Chocolate Muscle Milk

A Handful of Ice

Blend all this together and you get a banana/strawberry chocolaty goodness!

Yes, it can run a bit on the gritty side with the oatmeal, but I don’t mind it a bit. Just blend very well.

  • What you’re getting out of this Shake:

First of all, deliciousness

572 Calories (Definitely a good substitute for a meal)

90g of Carbs

9g of Fat

37g of protein

39g of sugar

If you don’t want the grit, you can always forego the oats. This can definitely drop the calories and carbs, too.

    1. Perfect! Thanks for pinning!

The oats are a bit something to get used to, at least for me anyway. There still are times I will leave them out as well.

  1. This not only looks healthy but it sounds like it tastes delicious! I’ve been trying to make my smoothies lean more towards the healthy side and this is the perfect start.

    1. Definitely a good substitute for a meal. I’ve been meaning to experiment making different smoothies. I’ll post them when I do!
